Despite the absence of four top line players, the Broncos have easily accounted for Wests Tigers 30-16 in their Country Carnival clash at Toowoomba's Athletic Oval. A dynamic opening 20 minutes in which the Broncos rattled off three converted tries did the damage, with explosive performances from Darren Lockyer, Gorden Tallis and Shane Webcke. However, the Broncos again fell into a slump for the remainder of the first and most of the second half, but there was enough shown to indicate the disasters of the week before were merely an aberration.
