The Broncos suffered their second hiding in as many days at the hands of a red hot Sydney Roosters outfit at Dolphin Oval. After scoring the opening try through Shane Walker, the Broncos conceded a staggering 34 unanswered points to boost their points conceded for the weekend to a mammoth 100, while scoring only 30 themselves. Once again the side was depleted, having been split into two squads for the weekend, and the Roosters were full strength and on fire.

Despite the heavy defeat there were some solid performers, with captain Darren Lockyer, Ashley Harrison, Shane Walker and Petero Civoniceva showing some promising form.
