The Brisbane Broncos' premiership hopes have continued their head-first ride to oblivion after a pathetic capitulation at the hands of a rejuvenated Sydney Roosters outfit 30-16 at ANZ Stadium. It was the defending premiers' third straight loss and leaves them in fifth place behind the on-fire Sharks.

Once again, the Broncos started solidly, scoring an early try through Lote Tuqiri, but it all came to nothing as the Roosters scored 30 unanswered points between the 13th and 58th minutes. Two late consolation tries saved the Broncos complete embarassment.
