Match Summary
The Broncos' incredible 23-match unbeaten run at ANZ Stadium came to an end at the hands of their long-time nemeses, the Parramatta Eels. Brisbane paid the penalty for a dreadful start, conceding two tries in the first five minutes to trail 10-0, and despite a gallant, gritty fight back, could not escape with the points.
However, a match that should be remembered for its high quality could be soured by yet another controversial performance from referee Bill Harrigan. Harrigan awarded just one penalty in the second half, a decision which most observers felt should have resulted in a penalty try to the Broncos.
In the end, Parramatta deserved the win, but the margin did not indicate the closeness of the contest.
