Brisbane's only big name signing for 1999, Luke Priddis was left in limbo after the demise of the Adelaide Rams. Priddis made a name for himself in 1997 at the Canberra Raiders, having the season of his life that saw him selected for Super League New South Wales in the historic Tri-Series final. He also played for Super League Australia against New Zealand.

In his first year with the club, Priddis relegated Phil Lee to the bench and John Plath to reserve grade as he made the hooking spot his own. A flamboyant player who runs well from dummyhalf, Priddis was outstanding in the Broncos' revival in season 1999.

Amongst a star studded forward pack, Priddis is not out of place. He was the only player to play in all 29 of the Broncos' first grade games in 2000. With 9 tries, he was the leading tryscoring forward and was one of the most consistent players.

After being mentioned in State of Origin discussions for New South Wales, Priddis will feature prominently against in 2001, where he will hope to continue his development as his contract comes up for renewal.
