A junior Kangaroo in 1999, an Australian schoolboy rep, and arguably one of the most talented young forwards ever to come through the Broncos.

Harrison started when he was drafted into the South Queensland Crushers back in 1997 by football manager Paul Bunn. When the Crushers went under, Harrison went back to his local club Aspley. Bunn then landed a job with the Broncos and brought Harrison with him.

Ashley is an extremely talented player, naturally strong and very creative. With his first touch in first grade, against the Auckland Warriors in the third round of the 2000 NRL competition, he brushed off John Simon and sent Darren Lockyer over for the final try. It was a taste of great things to come.

Fans did not have to wait long. He went on to play 20 games in his debut season, scoring 7 tries and running close to the NRL's rookie of the year award, won by Melbourne's Tasesa Lavea.

With Kevin Campion's move to the Warriors, Harrison has already stated his desire to secure the club's permanent lock forward role. It won't be smooth sailing, with Phil Lee, Shane Walker and Shaun Berrigan all contenders for the position.
