The award is made up of three distinct sections, the People's Choice Award, Webmaster's Award and the Grudging Respect Award. Each is voted on a 3-2-1 basis over the duration of the home and away rounds. The overall Player of the Year is the player who receives the most points across all three categories.

People's Choice Award

This award is voted by visitors to the site. Each week, you are asked to select the three best players from the game. The points are tallied, and at the end of the week the top 3 players get the 3-2-1 points allocation towards the overall award.

Webmaster's Award

I too award a 3-2-1 based on my opinion of the best players each week. My basic criteria for rating players is what they do over the entire 80 minutes. A player who scores three tries may not get my top vote over someone who makes 45 tackles in the game.
