Michael Coorey is something of a late bloomer at the age of 26. Although he played several games with North Queensland Cowboys when he was younger, Coorey has yet to make his mark in first grade. The big back rower made his Broncos debut off the bench during last year's finals campaign, which was an incredibly tough initiation.
Coorey has been given the extra responsibility of captaining the Toowoomba Clydesdales in 2002 after Damon Keating made the move to England. With several players leaving in the offseason, retaining the Queensland Cup will not be easy, but it will be a challenge Coorey and coach Kevin Walters will relish.
