Like Carroll, Brad Thorn has felt the brunt of New Zealand criticism for choosing to represent Australia instead of his home land. Worse still, he's expressed that he'd like to one day play for the All Blacks, New Zealand's rugby union side.
Thorn is a big, strong, tough forward who is difficult to put down and far from enjoyable to be hit by. A walk up start to the State of Origin team in 1998, Thorn is arguably the toughest worker in the Broncos pack. Always near the top of the tackle and hit up counts, the big man will continue to be a critical member of the side for years to come.
He was always earmarked as a future rep star, representing Queensland and Australia at schoolboy level.
