Shaun Berrigan is regarded as the heir apparent to Queensland's halfback jumper. The talented utility made the Broncos' number 7 his own in 2001 before suffering a tragic shoulder injury just two days before the opening State of Origin sides were due to be selected.
With the return of Allan Langer to the Broncos, Berrigan will largely play at five-eighth this season, with the injured Scott Prince set to compete for the role in May when he returns from injury.
Berrigan is extremely quick on his feet and an outstanding defender. His strength in defence is such that he could find himself the Queensland hooker if Langer decides to have another year of State football.
