Nathan Friend has been an impressive, consistent performer for the Toowoomba Clydesdales for the past couple of seasons. A versatile forward, he has played a variety of roles in the pack, but he is primarily a hooker.
Friend will be battling with Michael Ryan and Shane Walker for the Broncos' hooking spot in 2002, and beyond that will be fighting one of them for the Toowoomba number 9 jumper as well.
A solidly built player with deceptive pace, Friend is a good attacking weapon from close range and could prove a valuable asset to the Broncos should injuries affect their pack.
