Berrigan has tryscoring record in sights

Broncos centre Shaun Berrigan is just 6 tries away from the club's season tryscoring record with 11 rounds to play after the Broncos' 40-22 win over Wests Tigers at Suncorp Stadium.

In the club's 10th straight victory which solidifies themselves at the top of the ladder, Berrigan scored twice to extend his season tally to 17 tries - just 6 shy of the record of 23 held by former Test centre Steve Renouf, and his 35-year-old teammate Darren Smith.

The current winning streak is now just two games shy of the club's record of 12 wins, achieved in 1997-98. It also extends their winning run at Suncorp Stadium to five games - quite an achievement after the club could barely buy a win at the ground in 2003.

Brisbane led 30-6 at half time, and 40-6 10 minutes after the break, but the Tigers came back with three unanswered tries in the final 26 minutes to give themselves some respectability.
